So I'm Matt Croker. I'm a director within the Corporate Finance advisory team at Heligan. Within the National Security, Crime Prevention and Public Safety sectors, I think there's two key trends that are impacting businesses within the UK and, and also overseas. The first is the level of budgets, within the defence sector are continuing to increase and emerging technologies, which are increasingly being provided by owner managed businesses, within the UK. What's really encouraging to see is that spend, for SME companies within the UK is having far more support than it ever has done previously. 2024 was a record year for M&A activity within the sector.

What's really encouraging to see is greater amounts of private equity, becoming involved in the sector where it's now got a halo effect. Some fantastic companies have received investment, grown, and made a really good return, which is great for the community and great for the sector.

So multiples continue to increase within the National Security, Crime Prevention, and Public Safety sector. I think it comes back to a greater level of investor and acquirer appetite whereby it's had a greater, greater level of interest than ever before.
