Heligan Group LLP

Heligan Group is pleased to announce the first close of its debut fundraise for its Heligan Investments business.

The Heligan Private Equity I fund will mainly target buyout investments (but will also consider minority investments on a case-by-case basis) in high growth technology companies with enterprise values between £5m and £50m and with a focus on the National Security, Crime Prevention and Public Safety sectors. Heligan’s Partner led team is supported by a global network of distinguished professionals from the technology, law enforcement, military and intelligence fields, adding an invaluable layer of insight and influence.

Shoosmiths (Ben Turner, Barry Stimpson and Siffat Khan) advised alongside Jersey counsel, Applebys (Paul Worsnop), on the legal aspects of the fund launch. Heligan Private Equity I LP appointed Zedra Fund Services as the Administrator and Designated Service Provider in Jersey.

To date, Heligan has invested on a deal-by-deal basis working with a group of high-net-worth investors and other investment institutions who share Heligan’s vision for investing in the aforementioned sectors. Heligan’s current portfolio spans digital forensics & investigations, cyber security, vulnerability testing, intelligence data analytics, forensic microscopy, document examination, ballistics consultancy and scientific instrument manufacturing.

Tim Grasby, Founder and CEO of Heligan Group and Managing Partner of Heligan Investments commented “We are delighted to have launched our maiden investment fund, a further milestone in the evolution and growth of Heligan Group. Our laser focus on the National Security, Crime Prevention and Public Safety sectors makes Heligan Investments unique in the knowledge, connections and insight we have in the market and the ideal investment partner for both established and earlier stage disruptive technology companies that are striving to make our world more secure.”
